FAQ's

What home care services do you provide?
Homewatch CareGivers provides a variety of home care services that include minor medical care, personal care, patient assistant and companionship services to a wide variety of individuals. Our wide range of home care services allows clients to stay in their homes for a longer period of time.

When are your home care services available?
Our caregivers are available for hourly, partial day, overnight and 24-hour care. Because each client's requirements are unique, we offer flexible or regularly scheduled visits.

Who are your home care CareGivers?
Homewatch CareGivers carefully selects Certified Nurse Assistants, Home Health Aides, Personal Care Providers/Attendants, homemakers, and companions for home care and caregiving jobs. We only hire about 30% of all applicants because we only want the best. Our home care caregivers must be experienced and must pass our "triple screen" - three levels of pre-employment checks on character, care expertise and background investigations- before they can join our team.

What kind of training do you provide your home care caregivers?
Our caregivers are provided continuing education; they participate in monthly in-services on topics such as Alzheimer's care, communication skills, oxygen monitoring, taking vital signs, etc. This ensures that our home care caregivers are always building upon their knowledge and skills.

What do home care services cost?
Home care prices vary widely client to client depending on the type of service needed. Typically, hourly visits are more expensive per hour than visits that last 8 hours or longer. Because our home care services are customized to each client's particular wants and needs, the final price determination is made at the time of your free assessment. Please call us for a free assessment and a proposal that will include your home care cost.

How do you pair home care caregivers with clients?
With our Perfect CareGiver Matching, home care caregivers are carefully and thoughtfully matched to clients to optimize the quality of care. The CareGiver Manager matches clients with the best CareGiver- based on personalities, skills, expertise, availability and interests.

How are home care caregivers supervised?
All home care caregivers are carefully supervised by a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Care Manager. Monthly quality assurance visits and regular reviews of the care plan ensure that the caregiver is providing appropriate and high quality care. Our 24-hour Care Line allows clients, caregivers and their supervisors to be in contact on weekends and throughout the night, for added support and security.

My father is in an assisted living facility but could use some extra personal care. Can you help?
Our goal is to make things as easy for our clients and their loved ones as possible. If a client calls an assisted living location their "home", we are happy to provide supplementary services in a facility setting. Some facilities have rules that prevent home care agencies from providing care to their residents, but most do not.

I am the Director of Nursing at a nursing home and we're short on staff. Can Homewatch CareGivers provide fill in home care staff?
Homewatch CareGivers can provide staffing services to facilities that need extra help. We have Certified Nurse Assistants, Home Health Aides, Personal Care Providers/Attendants, homemakers, and companions who can work shifts in your facility.

What are my other options with respect to home care?
One option is to hire an independent caregiver to come into your home. Another is to hire an aide through a registry or use a professional agency- like Homewatch CareGivers- to provide the care that you need.
There is a strong temptation to choose the home care option that is the least expensive. But as you know, when it comes to pricing, you end up getting what you pay for and there are no bargains. Security, background checks, and consistency are critical components of a reliable and trustworthy home care program.
